The moment we've all been waiting for ... Finally, our BMW Group 5 E21 Turbo replica is up and running!
A short, brief roll out on the circuit of Zolder proved the car had no technical issues. So it was time for a first race. And where better to do so than at the iconic Belgian circuit of Spa Francorchamps?
The venue couldn't be more perfect, as we participated at the Spa Classic 2022 edition. After the free practice and qualification, the race started on Saturday, May 13th. Driver Erik Qvick was up for a one hour race, including one obligated pit stop. Thanks to a lucky yellow flag, we were able to perform the pit stop under good circumstances. Finishing with a nice 5th place.
Erik Qvick: "We are certainly happy about this result. Especially because it was our first race. And the car barely hadn't been on track before we came to Spa. We raced against some fierce competitors. The start grid had several BMW M1s, Ferrari GTBs, a Ford Capri Sachs Speed, Porsche Kremer ... So it was really nice to end within the class top five."
